PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is equipped with a plurality of fixing means to output a very glossy image, and which does not cause trouble due to transporting performance for recording material even in the case of paper whose basis weight is large. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with an image carrier on which a toner image is formed, a transfer means which transfers the toner image to recording material and a plurality of fixing means which fix the toner image transferred to the recording material. In the image forming apparatus, a distance between a plurality of fixing means is longer than the maximum length in a transporting direction of the recording material which can be transported.
