PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-way spring clutch using a coil spring, in which breakage at a free end part of the coil spring in a case where high-load torque is added in rotation in the locking direction is eliminated. SOLUTION: In this one-way spring clutch, when an outer ring 1 is rotated in the winding direction as seen from a free end of the coil spring, the outer ring 1 is locked to an inner ring 4 by diameter-expanding effect of the coil spring 6. An inward hook 17 provided at the free end of the coil spring 6 is inserted into a regulating groove 9 provided in the inner ring 4. With no load, a constant gap is provided between the inward hook 17 and a regulating end wall 11 of the regulating groove 9. With high load torque over prescribed, the inward hook 17 is engaged with the regulating end wall 11 to prohibit further expansion of diameter to idly run the outer ring 1 by a limiter function.
