<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head excellent in hitting feeling and wear resistance. <P>SOLUTION: An iron type golf club head 1 has a face part 2 having a planar face surface 2f and a hosel part 3 connected to a heel side of the face part 2, a shaft insertion hole 4 is formed in the hosel part 3. A convex part 5 protruding rearward is disposed near the center in a toe-heel direction. A raw material of the golf club head 1 is a highly pure iron with purity of 99.8% or more for example 99.995 to 99.9999%. The golf club head is carburized so that carbon is diffused in a range of 0.2 mm to 0.5 mm from a surface. The hardness in a range of 0.2 mm from the face surface is HV300 to 600, and the hardness in a range of 0.7 mm from the face surface is HV100 or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
