<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium for recording and reproducing data composed of a row of recording marks including recording marks and blank regions even if the length of the recording marks and that of the blank regions between adjacent recording marks are equal to or smaller than a resolution limit, and for greatly increasing recording capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium that is configured so that laser beams are applied and data are recorded and reproduced includes a laminate in which a recording layer 7 and a light absorption layer 5 sandwich a second dielectric layer 6, and the light absorption layer 5 contains Ge, or Sb and Ge as main constituents. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
