<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device that realizes sufficient cooling even in an extremely thin optical disk device, and is capable of reducing deterioration in recording/reproducing characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: An opening 3c is formed above an optical pickup module 4, and components for composing the optical pickup module 4, such as a carriage 7, are exposed in the optical pickup module 4 alone. The opening 3c is provided on a board 6 of a tray 3, and is formed so that the opening 3c becomes smaller than the optical pickup module 4. Therefore, when the optical pickup module 4 is mounted to the tray 3, the board 6 functions as a cover for covering the upper side of the optical pickup module 4. When the optical pickup module 4 is mounted from the rear of the tray 3, one portion of the optical pickup module 4 appears from the opening 3c provided on the board 6 of the tray 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
