PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display for suppressing the difference of a display color in adjacent dots straddling signal wiring and attaining excellent display characteristics, by suppressing operation inferiority due to crosstalk in driving a vertical alignment type liquid crystal layer in an active matrix method, and also to provide electronic equipment. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display comprises: a liquid crystal layer 50 in which dielectric anisotropy displaying vertical alignment by initial alignment state comprises a negative liquid crystal, the signal wiring 9 connected to a switching element 40 applying drive voltage to a prescribed pixel electrode 31, and the same potential wiring 11 extended in the same direction as the signal wiring 9 and applying the same potential as the signal wiring 9. In the pixel electrode 31, the signal wiring 9 is positioned in the neighborhood of one end, and the same potential wiring 11 is positioned in the neighborhood of the other end.
