PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable electronic component with a shield case in which holding force to a substrate and connection between an engaging click and the surface at the engaging recess are sustained, and the size and profile of the electronic component with a shield case are reduced. SOLUTION: The electronic component comprises a substrate 1 provided with engaging recesses 4 each having an electrode 4a on the inner circumferential surface thereof, a component surface mounted on the substrate 1, and a shield case 3 provided with a plurality of engaging clicks 6a being inserted into the engaging recesses 4 of the substrate 1 and engaging with the substrate 1. The engaging click 6a of the shield case 3 is bent to the inner surface side coated with an insulation film 13 to form a surface not coated with the insulation film 13 and facing the inner circumferential surface of the engaging recess. The surface uncoated with the insulation film and facing the inner circumferential surface of the engaging recess is soldered to the electrode 4a on the inner circumferential surface of the engaging recess thus securing the shield case 3 to the substrate.
