PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a machined surface with high precision and high quality and to improve chip separation to perform higher speed cutting. SOLUTION: A main cutting edge 7 of an insert is mounted to extend rearward in a rotating direction of a tool body as the main cutting edge approaches the rear end side of the tool body at the outer periphery of the tool body. The main cutting edge 7 is formed in convex curved line shape protruding toward the outside of a rake face 2 from the top view, and in another convex curved line shape extending toward the seat face side while being curved in convex shape from one end 7A toward the other end 7B side from the side view facing a relief face. In the mounted state to the tool body, an inclination angle defined by the rake face 2 is enlarged after being gradually reduced from one end 7A toward the other end 7B, and a projection line of a rotation locus of the main cutting edge 7 around a rotation axis forms convex arc shape smoothly coming in contact with a cylindrical surface P around the axis at an intermediate part 7C and retreating inward from the cylindrical surface P as it approaches both ends 7A, 7B.
