<p>An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for condensing, separating an d storing recyclable materials. The apparatus, in one embodiment, selects a ty pe of recyclable material, alters the recyclable material to a condensed form a nd stores the recyclable material in a designated receptacle (112). The apparat us may include an enclosure (102) with one or more openings (104) to receive an item made from a recyclable material, a selection module (106), a plurality of form altering modules (108), a plurality of receptacles (112), and a directo r module (110) to automatically direct a recyclable material, responsive to a selection made with the selection module (106), to one of a plurality of receptacles (112) according to the type of material selected. A system, in o ne embodiment, includes a recycling appliance (1002) and one or more modular fo rm altering devices (1018). The modular form altering devices (1018) may be interchangeable.</p> |
