<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent effective for suppressing the elevation of blood sugar level and derived from a natural material, an AGE formation inhibitor and a food containing the agent. <P>SOLUTION: The agent for suppressing the elevation of blood sugar level, the AGE (advanced glycation endproducts) formation inhibitor and the food containing the agent, or the like, contain an acerola seed extract and/or its treated material as an active component.
