<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC generator for vehicle which can absorb load dump voltage favorably while suppressing the increase of circuit cost. <P>SOLUTION: An overvoltage absorbing circuit consisting of Zener diodes 6 connected in star-form is connected to the middle tap 4 of armature winding 1.
