<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple detection apparatus and a method in which shortening of a detection time and improvement of detection sensitivity, particularly sensitivity to gram-negative bacteria are performed. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for detecting a microorganism has a sample-collecting part 10 for collecting a sample from a detection target, a sample-concentrating part 20 for concentrating the microorganism from the sample, a reagent-charging part 30 for charging a reagent in which the color tone changes when the microorganism exists into the sample and a microorganism-detecting part 40 for detecting the change of color tone of the reagent with an optical system.
