PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear actuator device of low cost in which high transmission efficiency and reverse transmission efficiency are both achieved. SOLUTION: This linear actuator device 3 is provided with a rack (solar spindle) 4 having circular grooves 40 comprising crests and troughs, a revolving screw (revolving spindle) 5 having thread grooves 50 to be engaged with the grooves in the rack 4 to be circumscribed with the rack 4, a holder 6 to support the revolving screw 5 to be capable of freely rotating in such a way that the axis of the revolving screw revolves around the rack 4, and a motor 7 to drive rotation of the holder 6. The rack 4 and the revolving screw 5 are relatively movable linearly.
