PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever drag type double bearing reel which improves the braking force of a drag mechanism, while smoothly maintaining the rotation of a spool, when winding up a line. SOLUTION: This spool 4 has a line-winding barrel portion 4a and a first flange 4b and a second flange 4c which are formed on both the sides of the line-winding barrel portion 4a and have larger diameters than that of the line-winding barrel portion 4a. A drag mechanism 6 for braking the spool 4 is disposed on the hand 3 side of the spool 4. The second flange 4c is formed in a diameter larger than the first flange 4b. The second flange portion 4c has a small diameter portion 4d formed so that the side of the line-winding barrel portion 4a may be smaller than the first braking member 25, and a large diameter portion 4e formed so that the outermost periphery side may be larger than the first brake member 25.
