PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furring strip which can prevent cracking of a caulking compound for preventing infiltration of rainwater etc. from a joint between a plurality of outer walls, or cracking of the outer walls per se, when the outer walls undergo dislocation with respect to the furring strip due to load applied to the outer walls. SOLUTION: The furring strip 22 is arranged in a space between a column 12 and the outer wall 16 of a building, for ensuring ventilation in a wall body 20 of the building. Herein the outer wall 16 is fixed to the furring strip 22 which is then fixed to the column 12 slidably in the horizontal direction in parallel with the outer wall 16. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
