<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door opening and closing system capable of accurately letting a visitor or the like know such a fact that an electric lock of a door is unlocked and increasing operability of a door opening. <P>SOLUTION: The door opening and closing system includes the electric lock for locking and unlocking the door, a door opening and closing mechanism opening and closing the door by such an action that it is in a state to unlock the electric lock, the electric lock is unlocked when a door opening signal is inputted by operation of a resident and, at the same time, a controlling means letting the visitor etc. know an unlocking state of the electric lock by operating the door opening and closing mechanism to open the door at a predetermined angle.
