It is intended to provide a composition which can be obtained by a convenient process starting with a natural material occurring in nature and acts on the autonomic nerves to thereby exert an effect of modulating the autonomic nerve activities for maintaining biological homeostasis or restoring disturbed homeostasis. Namely, a marine mineral component-containing composition characterized by containing marine minerals obtained by treating marine water and having an effect of modulating the autonomic nerve activities. This marine mineral component-containing composition preferably contains magnesium at a concentration of 70 mg/L or higher and sodium at a concentration of 3 mg/L or lower.
