<p>When the bearing areas of a crankshaft (2) are processed a finishing last step is performed using a geometrically defined cutting tool (1) after a first more coarse procedure. The cylindrical segments of the work-piece (2) are processed with a tool (1) comprising at least two cutting areas (3, 4, 7, 9) specifically manufactured with a high level of resistance to wear and tear and a perfect geometrical quality considering the cutting speed, the number of individual actions required, the creation of chips, and the torque acting on the tool (1).</p> |
