PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device capable of surely detecting the opening of a lid. SOLUTION: The disk device is provided with a driving means for rotating a disk for recording and/or reproducing information, an information reading/writing means for reproducing information recorded in the rotating disk and/or recording information therein, a device main body equipped with a control means for controlling them, and a casing 10 for housing the device main body. The casing 10 is provided with a casing main body 14 for housing the driving means, the information reading/writing means and the control means, and a lid 13 rotatably pivoted on the casing main body to close the opening 20A formed in the casing main body to load a disk. The device main body is provided with detection switches 21A and 21B disposed near a projected part 13A to rotatably support the lid and near the end of the side opposite the rotary fulcrum of the lid to detect the opened/closed state of the lid.
