PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an alumina-based humidity conditioning material which rapidly increases an adsorbing amount at a regulated optional humidity, can keep the humidity optionally at a certain level even at a place where a low humidity is locally required (a place such as a corner where dew condensation easily occurs) and can prevent dew condensation and propagations of molds and ticks. SOLUTION: The alumina-based humidity conditioning material is manufactured by heat-treating an aluminum hydroxide powder with an average particle diameter of≤50μm in the air.
