PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insolubilization method for cadmium in soil for preventing cadmium from diffusing from contaminated soil on the sites of past manufacture plant, soil coming from construction and surplus soil into underground water. SOLUTION: By using artificial zeolite having excellent cationic ion exchange ability, the insolubilization of cadmium in contaminated soil is performed. When arsenic originating from nature contained in soil is eluted because pH of soil pore water increases by mixing artificial zeolite into soil, the elution of the arsenic originating from nature is prevented by mixing ferrous weathered volcanic ash having excellent anion exchange ability. Moreover, the artificial zeolite and the ferrous weathered volcanic ash used as an insolubilizing agent are low-cost and harmless for human body, and therefore, the insolubilization method for cadmium in soil which is economically low-cost and safe is provided.
