The mobile terminal has a microphone (3) converting speech to be transmitted and a loudspeaker (4) reproducing far-end speech. The terminal also has a processor unit (7) with an audio signal converter (8) for modifying the audio signal to be sent and/or the audio signal (103) received based on analysis of the signals. The processor may use filtering functions to improve intelligibility.
