PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism which can realize various services by a wide use programming language and which manages the operation of an externally acquired application program, in newly introducing a programming environment by a BD-ROM for video data. SOLUTION: The information on the video data and the program or on the location of the program is recorded. By the recorded management information for controlling the reproduction state of the video data and the state of the program for each management section, the application operating in a management unit can be easily managed.
