PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid development electrophotographic apparatus with which high image quality, high density, and a wide dynamic range can be ensured by superimposing thin layers of the same color and the development and multi-value area gradation of each thin layer can be realized. SOLUTION: The liquid development electrophotographic apparatus carries out development by superimposing thin layers of the same color, thereby ensuring high image quality, high density, and a wide dynamic range. In the liquid development electrophotographic apparatus, a prescribed number of image forming units are disposed in order along a transfer body, each image forming unit having around its photoreceptor a photoreceptor discharger, charger, exposure device, and development mechanism. The image forming units have a developing process for varying development density and obtain prescribed image density by superimposing thin layers of different densities of the same color.
