PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new type of machining method replacing a method of using a wheel and supplying a usual grinding fluid from a nozzle in end face grinding of glass for a display such as an LCD wherein grinding is performed while supplying a large amount of machining fluid to prevent a cut surface from melting by a grinding burn, and the grinding wheel supplied for grinding requires V-groove shape of wheel suitable for glass to cope with the thickness of a plate while requiring to suppress grinding conditions of grinding speed and the amounts of feed and depth of cut to prevent chipping. SOLUTION: A polishing cloth tool formed by weaving long fibers doubling long-sized fibers containing abrasive grains into cloth and then folding the cloth in accordion shape at predetermined pitch, is used to perform polishing at high speed while feeding using a linear guide rail. As to the grinding fluid, folded angle faces of the polishing cloth tool folded at the predetermined pitch are provided with grinding fluid holes, and the predetermined grinding fluid is supplied from the grinding fluid holes to carry out grinding.
