摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding method for controlling the location and direction of grinding resistance imposed on a rotary grinding tool to a constant location and a constant direction by fixing a grinding point of a workpiece to be ground by the rotary grinding tool such as a rotary grindstone to one point, and to provide a grinding device for implementing the method. SOLUTION: According to the grinding method, the rotary grinding tool 12 is arranged such that its rotation axis is inclined a predetermined angleθwith respect to a rotation axis of the axially symmetric workpiece 7 to be ground, and the workpiece 7 to be ground or the rotary grinding tool 12 is relatively moved so as to copy a desired machining shape while a front angular portion of the rotary machining tool 12 abuts on a machined surface 7a of the workpiece 7 to be ground. Further at least one of the workpiece 7 to be ground or the rotary grinding tool 12 is controlled in terms of rotation according to progress of grinding procedure such that the rotation axis of the rotary grinding tool 12 always coincides with a normal with respect to a grinding point E at which the front angular portion abuts on the machined surface 7a, as viewed in a direction orthogonal to a moving plane of the relative movement, to thereby grind the surface 7a to be machined so as to have a non-spherical concave surface.
