PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Al-Mg based aluminum alloy sheet for a wide mouthed bottle cap whose pressure withstanding strength can be improved in such a manner that the improvement in the rigidity of a screw part and the prevention in the doming of a top face in a cap are made possible by increasing its strength in the range where its formability and earing ratio are not damaged. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy sheet for a wide mouthed bottle can cap has a chemical composition comprising, by weight, >2.1 to 3.5% Mg, and the balance aluminum with inevitable impurities. The original sheet of the aluminum alloy sheet has a tensile strength of 210 to 320 MPa and a proof stress of 160 to 290 MPa. The baked sheet obtained by subjecting the original sheet to heat treatment at 200°C for 10 min has a tensile strength of 210 to 320 MPa, a proof stress of 150 to 280 MPa, and an elongation of≥5%.
