<p>The invention relates to a method and device for the reproduction of a given image which has been digitised and divided into a number of pixels and optimised in a number of colours using a specific software program, said number being less than a pre-determined limit. The inventive method comprises the construction of individual colour elements or pixels which correspond to each of the colours selected for the image and which consist of small cubic pieces that are made from glass or similar. The invention comprises means for extracting the pixels from individual containers housing same and for the ordered sequential positioning thereof such as to form successive rows which, when positioned back-to-back, form the desired image. The desired image or mosaic is completed with a support for the pixels, said support being made from a suitable material. According to the invention, the pixels are joined to one another and/or to the support by means of gluing or with the application of heat in a furnace until a softening temperature is reached.</p> |
