PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To position a cartridge without substantially applying a load thereto. SOLUTION: A mounting member(20) for placing a cartridge (1) encapsulating a disk is carried into/out of a device body (40) by a driving means. The positioning mechanism is equipped with a disk rotation means (71) held with a traverse base (70) disposed on the device body, a holder member (60) for holding the mounting member (20) so as to be horizontally movable while being supported with the device body so as to be ascendable and descendable, a clamping member (61) held with an arm member (62) mounted on the holder member so as to oscillate , and cam members (50, 51) arranged on the device body so as to be movable along the carrying into/out of direction of the mounting member (20) by the driving means to actuate the holder member (60) and the arm member (62) by engaging them. When the holder member descends to mount the disk placed on the mounting member to the disk rotation means (71) by the holder means (60), the cartridge (1) is pressed and fixed on the mounting member (20) by the arm member (62).
