PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a wholly aromatic polyamide through direct polycondensation without using any condensing agent. SOLUTION: In the preparation method of the wholly aromatic polyamide, an aromatic aminocarboxylic acid is added to a specific solvent and is subjected to polymerization and crystallization at an elevated temperature without stirring or under slow stirring.
