PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of causing the lock release of a backrest from a seat part when an intense impact is applied to a vehicle, due to a fault in a joint mechanism developed after used for a long period of time in a seat of the vehicle or when used under harsh operating conditions. SOLUTION: In the joint mechanism 5 of the vehicle seat, and the seat 1 equipped with the joint mechanism 5 for adjusting the inclination of the backrest 4 in relation to the seat part 2 around a rotation axis X, the joint mechanism 5 includes first and second side plates 7, 8, at least one first bearing metal 11a provided with continuous teeth 12a, and a pin 15a axially projecting on the first bearing metal 11a.
