The engine has an internal-combustion engine load air supplying load air line, with exhaust gases leading away from the internal-combustion engine and returning into the load air line. An exhaust valve having a supercharger is arranged in the exhaust return line with a turbine in the load air line, arranged in the output gas line. From a turbine propelled compressor a branch line is provided in a second turbine where the branch line flows into direction of flow after the second turbine into the output gas line. A flow control element is arranged in the output gas line before the turbine of the supercharger. The turbine (20) arranged in the branch line (19) propels a compressor (14), the compressed air is for the supply of a planned air pressure (24) for a pneumatic mechanism. The turbine arranged in the branch line has a smaller effective cross section than the output gas line. The branch line flows into direction of flow before the turbine of the supercharger (13) and into the output gas line. The branch line flows into direction of flow after the turbine of the supercharger into the output gas line. The branch line branches in the same place as the exhaust return line (8) of the output gas line.
