The pit has an inlet (2) for receiving rain water and a downpipe (3) for removing the water. A collection space (4) arranged below the inlet collects sediments. The downpipe is connected with an outlet pipe (5), which is aerated by a ventilation pipeline (6) and reaches the collection space. A skimming wall (13) for retention of airy fluids and/or floating substances is provided in the area between the outlet pipeline and the inlet. An independent claim is also included for an irrigation establishment having a collecting pit.
