The seat has a rail unit (18) for accommodating a sliding unit (26). The rail unit is installed to a side of a backrest. A spring (22) includes two ends that are coupled to a sliding unit and an upper end of the rail unit, respectively. The spring is extended or compressed in the rail unit in accordance with movement of the sliding unit. A back board is integrally formed with the sliding unit. An independent claim is also included for a method of automatically extending a back board when folding a rear seat.
