PROJECTION TYPE IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type image display device having a light blocking mechanism restraining leak light caused by light emitted from a light source and reflected against the duct wall face of an exhaust duct used for a current of air for cooling the light source lamp of a liquid crystal projector. SOLUTION: Direct light from a light source is intercepted by light shielding baffle plates. Light reflected from the duct wall face is further reflected in directions other than the direction of an exhaust port by providing a plurality of minute projections on the wall face. The shades of the projections prevent the entire wall face of the duct from being brightened with light. In such a disposition, the duct wall face as viewed from the exhaust port is dark and free from emission of light. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
