The balance system for a camera includes a support arm attached to the underside of the camera with a handle projecting down below the support. This is configured to allow rotation about two axes, and rolling movement about a third axis for full manoeuvrability for the camera. The balance system for a hand-held camera comprises a balance arm (2) and a handle (3). The upper end of the balance arm may be connected to a camera retaining mechanism (10) and may be swivelled about a first axis (S) and tilted about a second perpendicular axes (N). The balance arm may also be rotated about a third axis (R) which runs perpendicular to the swivel axis. The balance arm may thus be rotated in an unrestricted manner about the roll axis (R) relative to the handle (3).
