Flat media cutting device

A flat media cutting device comprises base 20 with work surface 22, two supports 96 and a clamp bar 30 mounted between the supports and moveable perpendicular to the base 20. Carriage 40 for cutting means (not shown is mounted on bar 30 and is slideable thereon. The carriage is thus also moveable perpendicular to the base and is driven by linear actuator 8 which may be a screw drive as shown or alternatively a belt drive or rack and pinion drive. The drive is driven by electric motor and transmission box 50. The device is suitable for cutting papers or thin synthetic media.
