PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system with which the deterioration of color reproducibility due to the secular fluctuation of the characteristic of a light source used in an image reader can be avoided and also mismatching of image quality between the same types of machines of the image readers can be relieved. SOLUTION: This image reader 100 illuminates a white reference white board by an original illumination lamp 109 when it is started, reads the reference white board illumination by a CCD 101, sets a color correction coefficient used for color correction processing of the masking circuit 154 of an image processor 150 in accordance with a value obtained by reading the reference white board and notifies the processor 150 of the color correction coefficient. |
