<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for a vehicle whereby a leg of an occupant can be restricted, and reaction force given to the leg of the occupant by a panel can be suppressed so as to prevent increasing more than necessary. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a vehicle head collision sensor 12, knee panel 16 constituting partly an instrument panel 14 arranged in an occupant seat forward to be able to be separated from an instrument panel main unit 14a, an air bag 18 provided in a reverse surface side of the knee panel 16, and an inflator 20 which is an inflation means inflating the air bag 18. In the knee panel 16, in a part protruded to an occupant side at collision time to hit a leg 30 of the occupant, a thin thickness part 16a thinner than in a general part is formed in almost linear shape in almost a horizontal direction of a vehicle. The knee panel 16, when it is protruded to the occupant side at collision time, is broken in the thin thickness part 16a by hitting the leg 30 of the occupant moved forward by inertia force of collision.</p> |
