PURPOSE: Provided is a cathode active material, for a lithium secondary battery, containing a crystalloid or amorphous carbon core and at least one amorphous carbon layer formed on the carbon core, which can improve lifetime and increase capacity. CONSTITUTION: The cathode active material is produced by vapor-, ion-, or electrically-depositing at least one amorphous carbon layer(2), containing an amorphous carbon material and a material selected from a transition metal, a semi-metal, a non-metal, an alkali metal, and an alkali earth metal, on the crystalloid or amorphous carbon core(1), wherein the thickness of the amorphous carbon layer is 0.05-10 micrometer. |
