Docking member 12 has an opening which is shaped and dimensioned to receive and engage with the end of marker pen 10 having absorbent nib 18 so that the tip of the nib 18 is in contact with a source of liquid or dye which is thus enabled to flow from a source to the nib 18. The liquid may be a translucent liquid such as water and the dye may be a water based ink containing coloured dyes or dispersed pigments. The coloured dye may be oil based. The source may be the tip of the nib 18' of a second marker pen. The docking member may alternatively include an absorbent nib (34, figure 6). The source may be wadding in a container 36 which receives the marker pen in a recessed opening or docking station 38. Ink is transferred by capillary action. The marker pen may produce a line having a uniform and consistent colour change from one colour to another. |
