The modified mouthpiece (100) for a trumpet or other brass instrument has a tapered shaft (122) fitting into the end of the trumpet tube. The mouthpiece has a bell-shaped end (123) forming the embouchure, which may be rotationally symmetrical or slightly asymmetrical. The width of the rim (Randbreite) and its contour (Randkontur) are specified. A gently-tapering passage (124) leads from the embouchure toward the mouthpiece end of the trumpet tube. The tapering passage has a polygonal especially heptagonal cross-section. The regular heptagon has straight sides. It gradually increases in size from the embouchure toward the trumpet and is spiral-twisted to form a very coarse thread.
|
