The extractor of e.g. hydrocarbons from tanks of sunken vessels has floats filled with water for controlled immersion between the vessel on the sea bed and the vessels moored above it. A hose with pumps draws the hydrocarbons via the cable-controlled floats to the surface. Each float has a pumps compartment also enabling the floats to be raised to the surface after the extraction operation.
