An outdoor termination (OT) comprises an insulator body (2) which receives a high voltage cable (CA). The filling compound (3') consists of a mixture of solid particles (3.1) and an insulating compound. The solid particles can preferably be made of PE-pellets and a preferred material for the insulating compound (3.2) is an insulating liquid or a cross-linking material which forms a gel after being inserted into the insulator body (2). Thus, the cost of the manufacturing of the outdoor termination (OT) and the amount of maintenance work can be reduced. <IMAGE>
