Invention relates to the metallurgy, in particular, to the continuous casting of metals and alloys. The method of obtaining the continuously cast billet includes the melting of copper or its alloys, the supply of fusion into the crystallizer located vertically, the extraction of obtained continuously cast billet through the hollow graphite insert, internal surface of which is conical. Simultaneously with the installation of hollow graphite insert the insert of metal or alloy of another composition, for example, steel can be introduced. Technical result: obtaining the monolithic or bimetallic continuously cast billet with durable surface without defects.
