A method for production of an ice-cream in a cover includes preparing a composition of the ice-cream, preparing a composition of the cover, forming the ice-cream, and the following coating of the formed ice-cream with the cover. A jelly cover is used as the cover for coating, and, to prepare the jelly cover, salts of alginic acid are used as a jellying agent.
