METHOD FOR ELIMINATION OF CHRONIC EXTERNAL SUBLUXATION OF FOOT

The invention relates to the medicine, in particular to the surgical method for elimination of the chronic external subluxation of the foot. The method comprises the transverse osteotomy of the lateral malleolus at the level of the talocrural joint and the placement of two spacers to the external surface of the ankle below the site of the osteotomy and to the internal surface of the lower third of the shin. Through the spacers, the wires with the rests are passed in the opposing direction in parallel one to another. The ends of the wires are extended to the external and internal surfaces of the foot. Upon sewing the wound, in proximal and distal areas of the shin two wires are passed in transverse direction. The wires are fixed in Ilizarov device. The degree of the outward subluxation of the foot is assessed according to X-ray findings. Then the required force of the opposing lateral compression of the wires is estimated. The distal part of the lateral malleolus and the talus are displaced by turning the nuts of the wire-holders eliminating the chronic external subluxation.
