The invention relates to the medicine, in particular to the diagnostics of the diseases of the locomotor system. The method for diagnosing the functional state of the backbone comprises plotting the graphic chart of the locomotor system condition in the frontal and sagittal planes of the backbone. In the layout chart reflecting the normal condition of the locomotor system, the positions obtained upon the visual examinations are plotted, in particular, the muscular ridges, the costal convexities, the overstrained and atrophic muscles, the tops of scoliosis, kyphosis, and lordosis, the shortenings of the limbs, the torticollis, and the platypodia. In additions, the posture of the patient is photographed in three projections. The impaired posture is diagnosed by the deviation from the normal one.
