Invention concerns devices, intended for mechanical treatment by cutting of profile and rolling surface of the wheels of rail transport, namely, supports of wheel-turning lathes intended for repair of wheel pairs. The support of wheel-turning lathe consists of a carriage of longitudinal travel, which is mounted on the guides of fixed base and slider of lateral motion with a cutter mounted on the carriage. The displacement of carriage and slider with the cutter is carried out by hydraulic cylinders, control of which is performed by hydraulic distributors with the valves mounted on the housings of hydraulic cylinders. The stock of each of the valves is directly connected by mechanical link with the nut of ball spiral gearing, screw of which is connected with its step electric motor, which receives the output signals from NC system. The mechanical link between the nut of ball spiral gearing from the step electric motor of NC system and the valve shaft of the next hydraulic distributor of hydraulic cylinder of the displacement of carriage and slider with the cutter is executed in the form of elastic thrust with a damper, which allows to avoid impact loads on the ball spiral gearing. This technical solution provides obtaining the two program-controlled motions, which together create conditions for working of complex profile of rolling surface of the wheels of rail transport. In this case, damping impact loads at turning of hard spots on the rolling surface of wheels, high accuracy and quality of working, the possibility of using the standard NC systems with precision ball spiral gearing are ensured.
