The proposed method for recording seismic signals by a fiber optic detector can be used in burglar protection systems as the method provides a possibility do detect seismic signals produced by a walking human being. The method consists in isolating pulses with the same amplitude from the sequence of the output pulses of the detector, determining the number of the said pulses, the amplitude of the seismic signal, and the characteristic defining the signal amplitude as a function of time. In order to realize the proposed method, a fiber optic detector with a constellated structure is used in which the width of transparent marks increases according to a linear function. As a result, the optical radiation transmission coefficient of the detector exceeds 0.8, providing a possibility to increase the distance between the detector and fiber optic detector and the photodetector.
